Our Philosophy
There is an opportunity to make amends, manage our impact, and again become species in harmony with nature.
The will to accomplish this is all we need.
We now have the opportunity to create for ourselves the perfect home and restore the rich, healthy, wonderful world we inherited.

Who was Luigi —
Luigi Francescon
Luigi Francescon was born into a family who loved animals. As a child in Kenya, he grew up very far out of Nairobi, in what was then the bush. Being quite isolated as a child, he spent much of his time with his dogs and his mother’s vervet monkey friends.
Being close to the Nairobi National Park, where there were no fences or border lines, he lived in the midst wildlife and saw many huge wildebeest and zebra migrations with the ensuing lions following them through the garden. This experience remained embedded in his mind and soul for all his life. He also witnessed many children around him not having access to education, which he felt was crucial to anyone’s future.

Luigi Francescon died in 2016 leaving much of his estate to benefit wildlife and the education of children in Kenya. The Luigi Footprints Foundation was set up in his honour to manage his vision and desires for the good of wildlife and children in Kenya.
Nature is our biggest ally and our greatest inspiration. If we take care of nature, nature will take care of us.
Conservation is not just about saving our planet. It’s about saving ourselves.
